Thomas Olshan
Media Coordinator and Staff Writer
Thomas is currently obtaining his Master of Arts in Sport Management at the University of San Francisco in Northern California. He graduated with a degree in English Literature from San Francisco State University.
When Thomas isn’t interviewing your favorite soccer stars and providing his two cents on today’s pressing U.S. soccer issues, he enjoys playing the beautiful game in the San Francisco Soccer Football League. A striker by nature, he is as tenacious with his footwork as he is with his pen.
When Thomas isn't writing about or playing soccer, he enjoys watching Manchester United devour its opponents in the EPL. CR9, you are greatly missed!
Jeff Russell
Staff Writer
Jeff attended and played soccer for the University of San Francisco from 2004-2008. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and loves writing about topics concerning soccer and it’s growth in the United States, as well as the subtle nuances within the game itself and the player’s psychology. He has previously contributed to the writing of two management books for consulting companies he has worked for and is currently working on his first fiction novel.
Aside from contributing to SoccerHype.com, Jeff is still playing and hopes to earn a spot with a professional soccer team in the United States. After attending combines with the Earthquakes and a short trip to Croatia, he is more determined than ever to pursue his dream job. He watches as much of Manchester United (hail Sir Bobby Charlton and Alex Ferguson) and Barcelona (the most beautifully played soccer in the world) as he can without Fox Soccer channel or Setanta (ESPN360!).
Corey Bennett
Staff Writer
An attorney by trade, Corey possesses an analytical mind and voracious appetite for all things soccer. Beyond the pure joy of kicking a ball on a pitch, he revels in its social, cultural and political aspects. "Soccer brings out the best and worst in people. It connects us with places, ideals, and above all, people."
Corey's love affair with the beautiful game began in his front yard as a child and has never slowed down. He grew up watching his hometown Yavapai College Roughriders and following the players' progress to the professional ranks (including World Cup appearances). While studying abroad in Germany, he experienced what it was like to live in a country in which soccer is treated as an integral, cherished social benefit. Along with many other matches, triumphs and tragedies - some read about and others watched - these experiences contributed to his unrelenting passion for soccer.

Rocky Cole
Staff Writer
Rocky is a full-time writer who lives and breathes soccer. Retired from the US military after a career as an intelligence officer, he turned his full attention to writing fiction as well as covering the sport that has given him so much.
Back when the beautiful game was being played with balls stitched together from animal bladders, Rocky was a top player in Florida and later at Weber State University and the University of Utah. Following college, he played for Old Dominion FC and other teams on the East Coast. He has been a season ticket holder for Real Salt Lake since its inception and can also be found loitering in the rowdy section of the San Jose Earthquakes when they are NOT playing RSL.
